You die! 

You break off a corner of the piece of cake and eat it gratefully. Only after you swallow do you notice the thick black mould permeating the sponge. Sadly, it is slow to wreak its havoc in your body and – unable to make it back up the stairs to find help – it is several days before you finally perish.
